HIFU – High Intensity Focused Ultrasound<\/h4>\n

High Intensity Focused Ultrasound is a non surgical skin tightening treatment targeting the dermis, subcutaneous tissue and the SMAS layer of the skin for safe effective skin tightening without any downtime. The skin therapist will select a depth of treatment suitable for the different areas on the face and neck according to the static lines, dynamic lines and wrinkles and the loss of volume present in different areas. Different cartridge heads focus the laser shot at a 1.5mm, 3mm or 4.5mm depth to create a controlled injury that stimulates fibroblast activity to promote new collagen and elastin fibers creating a denser dermis with renewed support and improved metabolic skin function.<\/p>\n

Is the treatment painful\/uncomfortable?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The HIFU treatment is not painful or uncomfortable. Light pricks may be experienced a couple of times through the entire treatment and a little heat sensation may be evident.<\/p>\n

How many treatments are required?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A course of treatments over a period of 3 to 4 months will deliver noticeable improvement especially if combined with other skin tightening or age reversal treatments for optimal results. The therapist can advise on packages after a thorough consult has been performed noting the static and dynamic lines and loss of volume areas like the jowl area. Treatment intervals between Hifu<\/abbr> Treatments are 4 weeks apart and a course of 6 treatments is most effective, therefore 2 Radio Frequency treatments could be added to the course of HIFU sessions as an example.<\/p>\n

Can these treatments be performed all year round?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hifu<\/abbr> treatments are not season dependant. Treatments can be performed anytime of the year, however with any age reversal or age corrective treatment, care should be taken not to expose the treated skin area to UV radiation or heat. With Hifu<\/abbr> treatments heat, alcohol or chemicals on the treated area should be avoided.
